Kezdi chair Balvanyos Bath

Mossy peat bog and St. Anne's Lake are among the best-known natural rarities in Europe.
The Mohos peat bog was four times the surface of Lake St. Anne for their former extensive water. Lake Mohos has been dwindling for millennia and slowly becoming swampy, turning into a real alpine marsh.
During prolonged rains, the 10-foot-thick layer of muddy peat fills with water like a sponge and even absorbs stray cattle.
Peat has accumulated from a plethora of peat mosses that have died over millennia.
There are also many open water surfaces (pond grains) and various plant rarities in the peat bog area.
In order to prevent tourists from damaging the area, environmentalists have built a plank over the swampy ground, and some of the bog can be visited with a guide.
