Orbai chair Covasna Covasna, Jud. Covasna

Built on the boundary of the Bodzafordulo Mountains and the Trinity Basin, the settlement is 565 meters above sea level. Today it is the third largest city in Covasna county after Sfântu Gheorghe and Kézdivásárhely. Its population was 12,064 in 1992, of which 8,136 are Hungarian.
Its name, as well as the sourdough leaven, was derived from Slavic-derived kvass, which means sour.

The downtown Reformed Church deserves attention. In the foreground, among the protected millennium trees, is a homage to the memory of the heroes of the Millennium and the Hungarian War of Independence. The entrance Szekler gate was built on the 150th anniversary of the Hungarian War of Independence.
There is a small carved Szekler gate in the town hall, which was erected on September 17, 1940, on the occasion of the liberation of Northern Transylvania.
The entrance to the Reformed parish is also decorated with a monumental Szekler gate of the Trinity type.
The papilla next to the church is a literary memorial site. A commemorative plaque on the wall indicates that the writer and actor Ignácz Rózsa (1909-1979) was born here.

There is a permanent gallery in the center of Covasna.
The statue of Sándor Kőrösi Csoma was erected in the foreground of the cultural center. The Deák Garden is in the midst of the Kőrösi Csoma Sándor Memorial Museum. The Kőrösi Csoma Sándor Days series of events takes place here in April every year.
